Of all the texts bearing the name Gita, three of them - namely the Bhagvad gita, the Anu Gita and the Uttara Gita - Form a special group, popularly known as Krsna-Gitas, in which Sri Krishna is the teacher and Arjuna is the student.
The Uttara-Gita gives answers to Arjuna's questions on the nature of Brahman, the knowledge of which will release him from the bondage of life and death.
